Our commitment

Will Guard is committed to providing a website and a service that is accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, hearing, cognitive and motor impairments. Many of our clients come to us in difficult circumstances — bereavement, declining health, recent diagnoses — and accessibility isn’t an optional extra for us.

How we’ve built this site

This website uses Atkinson Hyperlegible as its primary typeface — a font specifically designed to improve legibility for readers with low vision. Type sizes and line heights have been chosen to aid readability on all screens.

Colour contrast across the site has been checked to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards in all core UI text. Decorative images have empty alt attributes; meaningful images have descriptive alt text.

All interactive elements are reachable with a keyboard. Links and buttons have visible focus states. The main navigation, breadcrumb trail, and page structure use semantic HTML so screen readers can announce them properly.

We avoid automatically playing media, flashing or rapidly moving content, and anything that might trigger motion sensitivity or photosensitive epilepsy.

Our home-visit service

Accessibility is about our service, not just our website. Home visits are available at no extra charge precisely because many clients cannot easily travel. If you need a quiet environment, a particular time of day, or the presence of a family member or carer during the consultation, just say so when booking.

Large-print drafts, coloured paper, and documents on contrasting backgrounds are available on request. If you use a hearing aid we can dim our voice profile; if you lip-read we can sit within clear sight; if English is not your first language, we can work with a translator at your request.

Known limitations

No website is perfect. We know about the following areas we’re actively improving:

  • Some legacy PDF downloads may not be fully tagged for screen readers. HTML alternatives are available on request.
  • We haven’t yet added video captions because we don’t have video content on the site. If we add any, captions will be included.

Tell us what doesn’t work

If you encounter any accessibility barrier on this website or during our service, please let us know. We genuinely want to hear:

Email: info@willguard.co.uk
Phone: 0330 223 7844

We aim to reply to accessibility feedback within 2 working days and resolve reasonable issues within 20 working days.

Standards

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across the site. This statement was last reviewed in April 2026.
